Introducing the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban
February 02 2020, Christin Automobile
Among the longest-running utility vehicles are the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban SUVs, which have been on the road for 85 years. They are durable, reliable and win awards year after year in Canada and the United States.
In 2021, building on these successes, Chevrolet Buick and GMC launches the new generation of Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe SUVs in 2021. You have much more room in the back and a new diesel engine that will undoubtedly delight those who want to save on gas yet go on adventures.
The Montreal Chevrolet dealer near Repentigny and Laval, Christin Automobile, keeps a close eye on what's new. He constantly seeks to inform consumers about the features that will distinguish the current models from those that will make their debut in Canada as early as 2020.
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban
The Chevrolet Tahoe's fourth generation was launched in 2015, while the Chevrolet Suburban's eleventh generation appeared on the market in 2014. The newest version of these two SUVs will be available in 2021. The Tahoe and the Suburban have managed to capture 60 percent of the market share (including GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade) over the past 20 years and continue to be favourites among American and Canadian large vehicle lovers.
The biggest change this time around comes from the use of the T1 platform, which has already been used for the Chevrolet Silverado since 2019. But while both giants offer the same mechanical specs, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban will stand out from the crowd not only on the outside, but also on the inside.
With the arrival of a new independent rear suspension, a flat floor is now available, which frees up additional space. The Chevrolet Tahoe 2021 will be longer, with 66 percent more cargo room and 40 percent more room for third-row passengers. The 2021 Chevrolet Suburban will also be slightly longer, but with a significant increase in cargo space and legroom for third-row passengers.
The powertrain remains the same with the option of a 5.3-litre V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque or a 6.2-litre V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission. But for the first time in their history, both Chevrolet models will be available with a 3.0-litre Duramax inline six-cylinder diesel engine with 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It will be the only diesel engine in its segment, which may appeal to those who need more towing power year-round.
The interior has been significantly redesigned and now offers plenty of room, with a generous dashboard and 10-inch screen that allows you to control everything, including the comprehensive infotainment system. Both models will also feature a pair of 12.6-inch rear screens, the largest available in these vehicles to date.
With a new independent rear suspension or air suspension in the High Country and Z71 models, the 2021 Tahoe and Suburban are easy to drive and provide exemplary handling on the road. Finally, both models will be available in LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country versions, so you'll have a wide array of choices with these very powerful and high-performing full-size SUVs.
