What Do We Know About the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

After the Chevrolet Bolt, the American manufacturer is moving forward with a series of announcements of new electric vehicles to come. Among these, it announces the coming of the Chevrolet Equinox EV 2024 and reveals some information.

Here’s what we know so far, including its exterior and interior design, its alleged performance and its release date.

Equinox Electric: A Futuristic Design

The Chevrolet Equinox Electric declares its character with a design that contrasts with the gasoline-powered models currently on the market. While it has some of the classic features of a modern SUV, it has a futuristic feel to it. It stands out in particular by:

• Its new front and rear light signature
• Its fluid and clean lines
• Two-tone paint scheme
• Dynamic wheels

At the front, the vehicle is well-lit by a horizontal light bar that tops the grille, only interrupted in the center by the classic logo. This bar is topped by a fake grille, black or body colored depending on the images revealed.

Some images also display a contrasting black or white roof, suggesting exterior packages that will allow the SUV to be customized with modern or sporty touches.

Overall, it has lines that reinforce its futuristic look. Its body is also lower, and it seems to have lengthened, possibly indicating a larger cabin or increased cargo space.

Chevrolet Cars: Advanced Technology on the Big Screen

Inside, technology is at the forefront, and it’s in sharp contrast to gasoline-powered models. Like the Blazer EV, the Equinox EV in Canada will feature a large central screen that links the infotainment and instrumentation systems into one unit.

The 17.7-inch multimedia screen will connect to all features such as:

• Apple CarPlay
• Android Auto
• Bluetooth connectivity
• And many more!

For the moment, we do not have more details on the integrated technologies, but we can expect a more than complete package: the American manufacturer announces that innovation will be at the rendez-vous. Personalized ambient lighting will be part of the package to enhance your experience.

Driver assistance technologies will also be in good supply, and we can already announce that the Super Cruise system will be available with the offer. Super Cruise is a semi-autonomous driving assistant that recognizes more than 320,000 km of highway in Canada and the United States so you can drive with your hands off the wheel!

All interior features are yet to be revealed, including cargo capacity. It’s worth noting that the trunk capacity is 846 liters, and the gasoline trim goes up to 1,809 liters.

Chevrolet Equinox Canada: Generous Performance with the Ultium Platform

For the time being, the specifications of the Chevrolet Equinox Canada are not identified. We don’t know the battery capacity, power or range of the electric SUV, but that hasn’t stopped some automotive experts from speculating.

Since we know that it will be based on the Ultium platform, like many new electric Chevrolet cars, it is possible to predict generous performance. Some speculate that the electric Equinox will have a range of between 400 and 500 km; others think it could even exceed 500 km.

As for power, according to Drew Dorian of Car and Driver:

“We expect all-wheel drive to be an option on the Equinox EV, which likely means dual electric motors and slightly more power than the 200-hp Bolt.”

Chevrolet Equinox towing capacity is currently at 1,500 pounds, but we have no additional info concerning the electric version’s towing capacity. Stay tuned for more details!

Equinox Electric Car: Coming in Fall 2023

The first versions of the electric vehicle, the RS and LT, are announced for the fall of 2023. This will make it a 2024 model year vehicle.

As for the price of the Equinox EV, Chevrolet currently estimates that it could be as low as $37,250. All indications are that it will qualify for both government subsidies at one of the lowest prices in the segment of electric cars.
