The History of Chevrolet Trucks
December 01 2018, Christin Chevrolet Buick GMC
It’s official. Chevrolet trucks is celebrating 100 years! A perfect opportunity for your Christin Chevrolet dealer, located in Montreal, close to Repentigny and Laval, to recall some historical aspects of the Chevrolet car manufacturer. “One hundred years and 85 million trucks later, Chevrolet trucks continue to inspire, support and reward through hard work and recreation,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks marketing director. “We are celebrating this historic milestone with the customers who have trusted Chevy Trucks for generations.” Chevrolet introduced its all-new Chevrolet C/10 pickup to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The beginning of Chevrolet
The brand’s founder, Louis Chevrolet, was a cycling and car racing enthusiast. His various racing exploits made him rich and famous, allowing him to create his own car brand. However, to be able to successfully carry out his project, Louis made the most of an opportunity that came at the right time: the General Motors Director, William C. Durant, was fired. To avenge GM, he signed a contract with Louis Chevrolet to produce a passenger car. William was interested in making sure that the car’s name bore the name of Louis Chevrolet, already renowned in the United States in order to create a competing brand of GM. Since then, the brand’s excellent models are no longer demonstrated, especially with its all-terrain pick-up trucks.
A history of trucks
Chevrolet has always sought to provide rugged and practical trucks for everyday use. A century ago, the manufacturer’s two first trucks included a half-ton model and a 1.5-ton commercial vehicle. Quite modest at the beginning, Chevrolet then focused on offering greater comfort in his trucks in the 1960s with the introduction of the C/K series. The key feature was largely due to the suspensions that greatly improved the ride. Chevrolet’s second generation C/K debuted in 1967, with suspension enhancements that provided a smoother ride. The model was also reviewed to give it a little bit more of timeless look. Since then, Chevrolet has built dozens of pick-up models. These have included the Silverado, a rugged, yet elegant truck packed with a myriad of high-tech amenities for a safe and comfortable ride. As well, the all-terrain Z71 line excels off-road.
As you can see, Chevrolet has a true passion for pick-ups. Now’s the time to come test them and choose your Chevrolet, new or used, at your Christin Chevrolet dealer, located in Montreal at 12011 Sherbrooke East, close to Repentigny and Laval.
