The 2023 Buick Envista, The All-New Buick Crossover
January 30 2023, Christin Automobile
Even though the Buick Envista from the 2023 model year is currently only available on the Chinese market, it’s always interesting to see what the American manufacturer is able to build with its know-how and the technologies it has currently access to.
Come and discover with us everything you need to know about the 2023 Buick Envista, whether about its price, design, performance, dimensions, and even its possible release date on Canadian soil.
Buick Envista 2023: Engine and Performance
The Buick Envista comes with a 1.5 L Ecotec turbo 4-cylinder engine that generates up to 181 horsepower paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. Equipped this powertrain, Buick’s Envista is able to demonstrate road performance like:
- Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds
- Fuel consumption at 6.5 L/100 km.
However, there are currently no other options when it comes to the engine.
Considering Buick’s emphasis on a dynamic exterior for this model, we can expect a higher performance option at some later date, seeing it would complement well the sportive elements that are everywhere in the design of the vehicle.
Like several of the other new crossovers in the large GM family, the Envista is built on the new VSS-F platform, which will be the platform going forward for most Buick vehicles with front-wheel drive.
2023 Buick Envista: Interior and Exterior Design
Embellished with very slims headlights, an aerodynamic rear end and the all-new Buick tri-shield badge displayed at the front and rear, the Buick Envista has a sporty look and shows a profile very similar to a coupe.
For those who would like to accentuate the dynamic look of this Buick SUV, the GS trim is also available. This version of the Buick SUV adds a black grille, 18-inch wheels and red brake callipers. Equipped like this, it’s clear the 2023 Envista is a vehicle that would look just as well on the racetrack as on the road.
Inside the 2023 Envista, simplicity is key. That being said, it has all the technologies we expect in a modern vehicle. Inside its cabin, the 2023 Envista offers:
- A pair of 10.25-inch screens operating as digital dashboard and central display
- Access to a 360° camera system, coming with the latest version of the Buick safety and driver-assistance system, for perfect peace of mind
- All these systems work with voice recognition
- And much more.
For audiophiles, the Envista is the first ever Buick car to get the new Tune Melody surround audio system, specifically designed by the automobile manufacturer to offer a tailor-made sound experience and to be integrated in its next vehicles.
Finally, a flat bottom steering wheel completes the rest of the design and contributes to the Envista’s simple, sporty and dynamic identity.
2023 Buick Envista: Price
Since it’s not available in Canada yet, we don’t know what will be the price once it reaches our shores.
However, it’s still worth pointing out that in China the Buick Envista starts at 150,000 yuans, which is the equivalent of $30,000.

The Buick Envista’s Release Date in Canada
Buick Canada has not released any official information on the Buick Envista’s arrival on our roads. We know it’s headed to the US in 2023, as a vehicle for the 2024 model year.
The technical specifications for the American version have not been disclosed yet, but we can assume that the version we’ll get will be similar.
In addition to the very interesting Envista, which will be released here soon, any day now Buick Canada should reveal its first electric vehicle, expected for 2024. There’s never been a better moment to be a Buick fan.
