The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Has So Much Power!
November 05 2019, Christin Chevrolet
As far as cars are concerned, there are two types of people: those for whom vehicles are only a simple and ordinary means of functional transportation, and those for whom a car must provide a great driving experience. For the latter, we have only one piece of advice: go to Christin Automobile, your Chevrolet dealership in Montreal, near Repentigny and the South Shore to discover and fall in love with the all-new 2020 Corvette!
The New 2020 Corvette ‒ A Breathtaking Design
Until recently, the Corvette C7 Stingray ‒ equipped with a 6.2-litre engine with 467 horsepower ‒ was available on the market, but the latest Corvette model’s first appearance was at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. At the time, it was equipped with a seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox with 460 horsepower; little did we know, there would be even more surprises from the sports car that makes us all dream big.
The first surprise finally came with the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which delivers both elegance and power, but the biggest innovation is the central position of the 6.2-litre V8 engine, which – in the new 2020 Corvette ‒ produces 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, and this without manual shifting as everything happens sequentially with a dual clutch and eight-speed transmission. In the Z51 model, it will be possible to go from 0-100 km/h in less than 3.0 seconds, an improvement on the previous generation. The central position of the engine gives optimal handling and power to spare.
You’ll quickly see that the 2020 Corvette was designed for performance thanks to the weight distribution that slightly favours the rear and thus provides a more sporty feeling, for a whole new world of thrills. As the Corvette is a low-profile car, its road-gripping power is superior and it can handle corners perfectly, with top speeds exceeding 300 km/h with its 19-inch front and 20-inch rear tires. One thing is for sure ‒ this new Corvette will not go unnoticed on the roads of Quebec, Canada and the United States.
Inside, elegance and refinement dominate. The vertical controls are unique and give more space to the driver and passenger, not to mention that this extremely sporty car offers you the choice of three different leather seats with distinctive seams: the GT1 leather seat will give you all the necessary comfort; the GT2 seat offers you support and make you feel like a race car driver without compromising on comfort; the Sport competition seats have been designed for road circuit racers as they are very tight and more rigid.
In addition, there's a 12-inch digital display, huge vents on each side to better control airflow, storage spaces in the centre console and on each side panel, a simply sublime Bose audio system, and a race car-like steering wheel with minimalist and very user-friendly controls, all in a luxurious interior where leather is the dominant element.
The 2020 Corvette has no door handle, making it completely seamless. The straight, sleek lines make the Corvette look like it is fit for the third millennium and for the first time, Chevrolet innovates with two trunks, one at the front and the other at the rear, for a total of 357 litres of storage.
Finally, the convertible Corvette has just entered the market and Chevrolet is thinking even farther with a hybrid model that would approach 1000 horsepower and be comparable to a Ferrari or a Porsche 918. The era of innovation has arrived at Chevrolet, and the engineers who work on the Corvette are stepping up their efforts in their plant.
