The 2018 Compact SUV Chevrolet Equinox
December 01 2018, Christin Chevrolet Buick GMC
Over the years, the compact SUV Chevrolet Equinox has built an excellent reputation among fans of this segment. It is particularly appreciated for its reliability, its very practical equipment, its storage space, and above all, its really reasonable price. Originally, however, those who were all about the aesthetic aspect of a car were disappointed by the previous model of this SUV, considering that GM focused more on its performance. Fortunately, the manufacturer listened to its customers and promises a 2018 compact SUV Chevrolet Equinox with a brand-new avant-garde concept. To better compete in the North American market, GM promises a vehicle that follows the current car trend closely: smaller, lighter, more economical and more efficient ... what more do you want? Christin Chevrolet in Montreal near Laval and Repentigny is here to help you discover this wonder.
Modern and Efficient
The appearance of this SUV has been modernized to the point where it is closer to the Volt, the Malibu or the Cruze. It is equipped with a projector-type headlights, LED daytime running lights, and chrome mouldings. On the most luxurious models, you can have light-emitting diodes lighting (LED). Inside, you can see a steering wheel and gearshift that looks a lot like those of the Malibu. As of extras, it is possible to have a cockpit with two tones of beige and black, all covered with leather, amping up its level of chicness. Nice!
With 180 kilos lighter and 10 cm shorter, it is quite surprising that the interior space of this car stays the same as the previous model. Good news! The remote starter and heated front seats come with all models, Canada exclusive!
Cutting-Edge Technology
GM has gone a bit wild in terms of functionality for this 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. You can get as optional features a Frontal Collision Warning system with distance indicators, an automated low-speed emergency braking system, a blind spot indicator with lane support system, reversing sensors to detect whether a vehicle is coming from the transversal street, and more. There is also the Teen Driver system in this SUV, a system that allows parents to remotely supervise their youngster's driving behaviour by obtaining information such as speed and distance travelled, and setting speed limit or maximum volume of the radio allowed, for example.
More Efficient Than Ever Before
As the large V6 engine is no longer available, this SUV offers two four-cylinder petrol engines: a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine developing about 170 horsepower combined with a six-speed automatic transmission and a 2.0-liter turbo engine along with a new nine-speed gearbox. A 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine generating 136 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm is also available. The fuel consumption is about seven litres per 100 km.
