October 19 2022, Christin Automobile
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) was held in Detroit from September 14 to 25, and new products were announced by many automakers around the world.
Christin Automobile recalls the highlights of this event by introducing the advances that were announced for the coming year. One thing is certain, manufacturers know how to meet the ever-growing expectations of motorists in the province and elsewhere. Read on to have the latest info!
A Brief Description of NAIAS
In 1987, the first NAIAS was held in Detroit, a large American city known for its large number of automobile plants. Holding the event in Detroit was a natural fit, and this event is also known by the shorter name of the Detroit Auto Show. RPM looks back on the breathtaking NAIAS show:
“My first show was in 2008 when Dodge unveiled the 2009 Ram on Washington Boulevard in front of the Cobo Center (now Huntington Hall) with as many as 250 long-horn bulls. Every presentation was a show, and there were presentations every fifteen minutes and over two or three days.”
There is no doubt that this car show had a taste for the parade! We’ll take a look at three models that caught our attention this year: the Buick Wildcat EV, the 2023 GMC Canyon and the Chevrolet Tahoe RST Performance Edition.
Buick Wildcat EV: Back and Ready to Hit the Road
For a Buick with a unique appearance, look no further! For the first time since 1990, the Buick badge has been redesigned to give a new identity to the American automaker, which has announced that it wants a completely electrified lineup by 2030.
For the Buick Wildcat EV these features announced are included:
- 22-inch wheels
- Ultium architecture
- Camera mirrors (replacing the traditional mirrored mirrors)
Luxury combines with the ultra-modern elements of the Buick Wildcat EV to give this automobile a completely personal look. Stay tuned for all the latest news!
2023 GMC Canyon: A Muscular Truck with a Bright Body
GMC and its SUVs are known for being reliable, and their pickup trucks are no exception! The 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X is ready to move away from familiar grounds with confidence thanks to GM’s estimated 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Wider than current models and equipped with 33-inch off-road tires, the GMC Canyon provides stability inside the cabin.
La Presse is satisfied with the new features inside the 2023 GMC Canyon:
“The cabin makes enormous gains in terms of refinement, inspired by the new Sierra dashboard and the use of a digital instrument screen.”
The Canyon and its price have not yet been announced by GMC, but the manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the current model of the 2022 GMC Canyon ranges from $30,128 for entry-level models, going up to $54,388 for fully equipped models and a Crew Cab.
Tahoe RST Performance Edition: A Full-Size, High-Performance SUV
The Chevrolet Tahoe takes the full-size SUV proposition and adds even more power and speed. Its performance is upgraded for this version:
- 433 horsepower
- 467 lb-ft of torque
- 0-100 km acceleration in 5.78 seconds
Equipped with a 6.2L V8 engine and a 10-speed transmission, its capabilities are revised to offer unmatched power without sacrificing neither comfort nor its 7,600-pound towing capacity.
