This new version of the engine is an upgrade over the one introduced a few years back. The differences between the two engines are numerous, but here’s the main points:

• In the 2019 Silverado 1500, the engine produced 310 hp and a torque of 348 lb-ft
• Now, in the 2023 Silverado, the new engine produces 310 hp and a torque of 430 lb-ft

We can easily see that the torque has been upgraded significantly in the last few years.

Indeed, there’s been a torque upgrade of just about 20%, which allows for better acceleration. Additionally, this improvement also helps it carry heavy loads with less difficulty, and might interest quite a few people looking for a new truck.

Two Versions of the 2022 Silverado

Should you Choose the 2.7 L Turbo Engine?
